2027 Medicare AHIP Training
In order to be compliant in selling Medicare Advantage and/or Part D plans, insurance agents must certify with each insurance carrier prior to selling their products. Most of these insurance carriers require AHIP certification prior to their product certification. AHIP certification is a national training that educates insurance agents of the rules/regulations for offering and the coverages Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. AHIP certification typically opens for completion each year in the summer prior to AEP. This year, AHIP certification will open June 22, 2026.
Agents can directly purchase and take the certification course through AHIP.org with a cost of $175; however, many carriers offer a $50 discount through their specific links. We will create an article here in the Knowledge Base with links to the carrier certification sites soon, but you may also check the Slack channels for the carriers as well. These will be posted as they become available.
